1. A Running Toilet - There are a couple of causes of a running toilet, a faulty stop valve or a floater switch. Basically, the large bulb in the back of the toilet that stops the flow of fresh water once full becomes inoperable. While jiggling the handle to stop a running toilet may fix the problem temporarily, you can fix it permanently by replacing the entire assembly. The water in the tank is totally clean to don't be nervous about getting your hands in there.
2. A Clogged Drain - A slow drain can sometimes be a symptom of a larger problem that needs a plumber. However, if you have debris caught in your drain pipes, then you should be able to fix it with a sink plunger or snaking the drain with a cable auger. You can find these at any hardware store. Never use use conventional drain cleaners. They're only a temporary fix and could permanently harm your entire plumbing system. Keeping drains clean and using natural solvents, such as baking soda and vinegar, on a regular basis are highly recommended.
3. Caulking Bathtubs and Showers - The big consideration when caulking is to use the right type of caulk. There are a lot of different kinds to choose from so be sure to check the label and get caulk that is designed for tubs and showers. Go for quality when you purchase a caulking gun. They aren't that expensive, and they are easier to use and last longer.
4. A Leaky Faucet - We covered this in depth in a previous blog, which you can read here.
