We love our pets. You love your pets. No one loves the smell that our adorable best friends create. How can such foul smells leaks out of such a cute facade? We don't know the answer to that question, but we can help you kick that pet odor to the curb.
1. Keep Floors Clean - Pets walk around outside, catching all sorts of fun smells on the pads of their feet. They then rudely bring all those smells inside and mash them into your carpets and rugs. It's important to vacuum and clean your floors weekly.
2. Clean Your Furniture - Nasty odors like to linger in your furniture. Always check the care labels before cleaning to make sure the piece isn't dry clean only. Care labels marked with an S mean don’t clean with water, and X means dry clean only. You can use a mix of warm water and a few drops of dish soap with a bristle brush to wipe down your cushions. Leather and leather-like fabrics can be cleaned with a combination of vinegar and water on a damp cloth.
3. Wash their Bed - We remember to clean our sheets and blankets but will leave the pets bed for months. Most beds will have a removable cover that you can just wash normally. To target odors in the stuffing, sprinkle the stuffing with a bit of baking soda. Vacuum off the baking soda, then replace the clean cover.
4. Clean Their Toys - Pet toys can have debris and you pet's gum juices soaked into them creating a recipe for some nasty odors. Wash fabric toys, ropes, towels, collars, and leashes in the washing machine. Tumble dry them in the dryer. Wash hard toys, bowls, and rubber toys in the sink with hot soapy water.
